Spiced Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 18 shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic 
  • 1 inch ginger 
  • 4 lemongrasses, sliced
  • 2 inches galangal, sliced 
  • 2 inches fresh turmeric 
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds, roasted 
  • 2 tsp cumin, roasted 
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds, roasted
  • 3 tbsp Nutrilite Soy Protein Drink
  • 1 chicken, cut into 8 pieces 
  • 1 ½ tsp salt 

Method:

  1. Install the blades of the Philips Food Processor HR7776.
  2. Add the shallots, garlic cloves, ginger, galangal, lemongrass and fresh turmeric into the food processor bowl.
  3. Grind the seasoning for 10 seconds. Add the ground ingredients together with the chili paste to chicken and mix well.
  4. Add the fennel seeds, cumin and coriander seeds into the dry blender and grind for 5 seconds.
  5. Sprinkle the ground spices and salt onto the chicken and spread evenly.
  6. Add three tablespoons of the Nutrilite Soy Protein Drink powder to the chicken, mix well and marinate the chicken in the fridge for an hour.
  7. Preheat the Philips Premium Digital Airfryer HD9741 to 200°C.
  8. Place four pieces of chicken in the Airfryer and fry for 6 minutes. Lower the temperature to 160°C and continue frying for 7 more minutes. If you like your chicken crispy, increase the temperature to 200°C again and fry for an additional 2 minutes.
