Ingredients
- 6 leaves white cabbage
- 6 leaves purple cabbage
- 200g minced chicken
- 10 medium prawns, peeled, deveined and coarsely chopped
- 3 medium mushrooms, finely diced
- ¼ small carrot, finely diced
- 1 stalk spring onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- ½ tsp white pepper
Method:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Arrange cabbage leaves in a steamer basket. Position the basket over the pot, close the lid, and steam for two minutes until the cabbage slightly softens. It's recommended to steam white and purple cabbage separately to avoid colour transfer.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, thoroughly mix the remaining ingredients until well combined.
- Place 2 tablespoons of the prepared filling in each cabbage leaf, roll them, and position them seam side down on a plate. Transfer the plate into the steamer basket and steam for 6 minutes over boiling water.
- Remove the cabbage rolls from the steamer basket and enjoy them while they're still hot!
